If you have your own movies collection, it would be a shame if you didn't organize it properly. As your collection increases, it will get harder and harder to locate a specific movie. With eXtreme Movie Manager, it does not matter if your movies and TV series are stored on the hard drive, removable drives or original discs. You can use this program to organize your entire collection in the same database. It gives you the possibility of categorizing movies, marking them as seen or unseen, applying filters and much more.

The setup file is 67.7 MB, which may take a bit longer to download, but the installation procedure is straightforward and fast. You will not encounter any complex options along the way and you will be able to run the software right away, without rebooting or installing additional services.

Movies, TV shows, people and other information are organized in a tree structure, on the left side of the interface. Each folder acts as a filter, which displays seen or unseen movies, marked or unmarked and so on. You can also filter your items by year and genre. The movies themselves are listed in the central region of the interface and you can view their associated information on the right side. You can find options for adding movies and performing other actions in different ribbon menus.

There are multiple ways of adding new movies or TV shows to the database. You can do it manually, which involves filling in numerous input fields, on a tabbed window. The software allows you to insert any information, from technical information about a movie to its cast and crew. A faster and easier approach is to use eXtreme Movie Manager's unique features to add your movies. If you have an original DVD, the software can read its contained information and create a new entry in your database. Additionally, if you insert a DVD's bar code, you will be able to update the movie's details from the Internet.

eXtreme Movie Manager can also scan a folder, on your hard drive or a removable device, to add a new movie or TV show. Once you select a folder, the program will scan its contents and it will display the found video files in a list. This feature is quite useful, especially for TV shows. You can import an entire series right away and you can also make a few settings, to extract the name of the series, season and episode numbers and other information. It is also possible to associate a database entry with one or more video files. If the movie itself is located on the hard drive, you can use the program's various functions to locate it immediately, after which you just need to click a button and the movie will start playing right away.

Pros

The software allows you to associate a huge amount of information with individual movie entries. You can add them to your database manually, or use the program's functions to extract information from DVDs or video files. It is possible to mark movies as seen, unseen, loaned and more and you can use this information to filter your entries.

Cons

You can add a limited number of movies to your database, while using the unregistered version. With eXtreme Movie Manager, it takes minimum effort to organize an entire movies collection, regardless of its size or used media.
